He isn't even interested in finishing AS2; this game is buggy, half-baked jank. And that is unfortunate; this was my favorite game until he essentially abandoned it 8~9 years ago. I wouldn't buy AS3 even if he did start making it.
I hope a worthy successor comes soon (by someone who actually has the passion and time for it).
Audioshield is Audiosurf 2.5 (or basically was supposed to be Audiosurf 2 VR)
Who knows if he will cook again, I hope he does but it’s been a long while
It's a sad thing. Audiosurf was a hit, was huge. It suffered from a dying development cycle.
Sadly, as well, any racing, car and driving type games suffer the same issues nowadays. They don't make devs money.
Late Gen Z / Gen Alpha hate these types of games. I'm early Gen Z, 1997-2021, and I grew up with these games at the forefront of my mind.
Mario Kart, Crash Tag Team Racing, dozens of obscure titles that I played hundreds of hours on the PS1.

Any game that dozen't have a cute character, or humanoid body just doesn't get made anymore.
It might sort of work if more songs would be bundled, but you have to somehow make it interesting enough for have replay value with those base-game songs. That might kinda gets you into just mapped-style rhythm games which just isn't what AS is.
Idk How old Dylan is at this point, could find it out probably, but meh, but it's been some years since AS2 and even AS1 (17 years in fact) and before that he already made other games, AS1 was just the first big hit. Wouldn't blame him if he just retired by now.
No, i prefer it the way it is on dylan's hands.
