Got this in a bundled sale with MHS2. Having a blast so far. I'd been recommended this spin-off series for a while since I love monster taming games, especially cute ones.
I love puns and felt welcomed in as soon as the dialogue started.

I've been enjoying discovering new eggs and monsties as I go along. I like taking my time and doing subquests as much as possible before progressing, and I love that you can repeat the ones on the board to get more zenny[money] and xp. Haven't gotten too much into the gene manipulation stuff. Seems cool but I haven't felt the need to min/max monsties just yet.
I like the gear you can craft to match your monsties and that you can change your appearance if you maybe regretted your decisions during character creation.
I'm also not all that interested in the Network Battles, but the story and gameplay have been right up my alley.
Rare dens can be pretty exciting when you get something you haven't even encountered yet.

I haven't played MSH2 yet, so I don't have many complaints that I've seen in some of the negative reviews from people who played the second one first. So if you happened to get this as a bundle probably play this one before the second one so you don't get whiplash from reverse QoL.

Overall I think this game was made exactly for me. If you aren't bothered by cliche anime stories, puns, or graphics that aren't on par with the mainline series, you'll probably enjoy it too.

I've always wanted to have some of the MH monsters as pets 😆

Yes, this does feel like a cooler version of Pokemon for me, but I'm most definitely biased because I love almost every MH game despite their flaws, and for Pokemon, I only ever liked Fire Red/Leaf Green 😅

And even if you don't get much time for gaming anymore cause of life, in this game, you can definitely catch them all✌️

Monster Hunter Stories is a turn-based RPG where you raise and battle alongside monsters, offering a lighter and more strategic experience!

Game was decent, basic but good story, great music because its monster hunter music, and the gameplay is simple but decent (some depth with the rite of channeling stuff but i literally never used it and beat the game just fine so not really necessary). My main issue was the entire middle portion of the story being very slow/boring, the start really hooks you in then you sit through 30 smth main quests of fighting the monster of the week then moving on to the next town and the story only picks up again when Cheval is being edgy, then you make yourself through the more interesting end game. But hey the combats fun, and although I said the middle portion is slow/boring it still has that charm of a cartoon. 8/10 and Ratha is a very original name to give to a Rathalos

Pretty solid game, like a 7 out of 10. My main issues with it are that there are no skill checks or any form of difficult bosses for you to make a competent team to fight in the main campaign (before you reach high rank), the story is lackluster at best (wasn't expecting much anyway since its a Monster Hunter game after all), and the characters felt really flat. Overall, its a good game just do not come in expecting a good challenge or a well-written story.

Played Stories about nine times already, which includes on the phone, 3DS, and the Nintendo Switch. Now playing it on the PC, and I have to admit, it's still peak.
