stuck after the boss with skythes

what can I do after I beat that boss?
it seems I only have some rooms where I need some key, and I found a new area, which looks like a dessert, and has some plattforms that are burning from time to time and a flying orb.

I think the scythe boss gives you a dash? Then you can dash into that desert area. Should be another boss or two that way and finally a key for going further underground.

I end up in a room where you go to the left and end up in a pit with a huge wall to the left and orb flying above you. I dont know what to do with the flying orb. it disapeares if I touch it, and I cant jump over the wall on the left.
