After months of development, playtesting, and community feedback, Shoot & Neon has reached a major milestone. This update marks the final step before the official Steam launch on June 4th. It's time to polish things up, squash the last bugs, and get ready for takeoff!

🔧 What's New in v1.0
✅ Player bullets now pass through teammates — no more accidental blocking.

✅ Lives system added — your team now shares a limited number of lives. Once they're gone, it's game over — no more infinite respawns.

✅ Lobby music added

✅ Voting system improved — a visible timer starts when the first player votes.

✅ Upgrade UI updated — the “+” icon is now a bullet icon for clarity.

🐛 Bug Fixes
🐞 Fixed an issue where players could get stuck in a "hit loop".

🐞 Resolved a critical bug where the game would freeze if the host left.

🐞 Player synchronization improved — all players should now see each other correctly.

🐞 Achievements now work as intended — including the "no damage run" achievement.

🐞 Leaderboards now function correctly in multiplayer — and are now fully integrated with Steam.

⚠️ Known Issues
🔥 Fireballs still pass through building ramps — this bug remains unresolved for now.

This is the final feature update for Shoot & Neon. I'm shifting my focus to a new project, but may return for smaller updates if needed. It’s been a blast building this game, and I can’t wait to share it with more players on Steam.

I am thrilled to announce a new update for the game that brings several bug fixes and improvements to enhance your gaming experience. Here's what you can expect in this update:

Bug Fixes:
1. Fixed an issue where the enemies head could still be hit by other joined players.
2. Resolved the problem causing the screen to stay red after taking damage.
3. Addressed a bug where the UI of other players would overlap with your own.
4. Fixed a bug where numbers displayed excessive decimal places; now they are rounded appropriately.
5. Health pickups have been reworked to prevent weird collisions, and might improve the games overall preformance.
6. Shooting speed now scales based on a percentage. The higher the percentage, the faster you shoot.
7. Fixed the bug where the cursor remained visible after selecting a team upgrade.
8. You can now safely return to the menu without encountering any issues if you're eliminated.

Here are the Patch Notes for the new update, LIVE NOW

Version 0.0.5.5

Features and Additions:
• Added animations to the user interface, enhancing the overall visual experience.
• Introducing spawning of black spheres upon impact with enemies.
• Damage numbers are now displayed, providing better feedback during combat.
• Enemies now have distinct weak points (headshots) that deal increased damage when hit.
• Implemented a bugfix to address the issue of enemies continuing to track the player after their death.
• Upon player death, a respawn timer of 10 seconds has been implemented.
• Game over condition introduced when all players are simultaneously defeated (Note: In-development; pending addition of lobby, main menu, and leaderboard
features).
• Added chests containing upgrades that can be acquired throughout the game.
• Resolved a bug related to movement speed, ensuring that sprinting provides a more noticeable speed boost.
• Introduced collectible life items that players can pick up for extra lives.
• Randomly spawning upgrades on the game map enhance gameplay variability.
• Added a new game map to keep the experience fresh and exciting.
• Fixed the issue where spheres would pass through walls, improving overall collision behavior.
• Enhanced the upgrade notification system with a new pop-up display. Implemented a voting mechanism for upgrades where the most voted option is chosen.

• Modified the game structure to consist of a single progressively challenging wave over time.

Once again there is a new build Live, 0.0.5.1 containing this:

• Neon Points (NPs) are now physical interactable objects to loot
  
• Discord Integration, people can now see that you are playing
  
• And some minor bugfixes for the NPs

I am currently working on changing the gameplayloop and the map, adding 20 minutes of combat with milestones where the game will be paused and you are able to upgrade. I am planning to also add random upgrade drops.

New build 0.0.4.9 Live with some important updates and bug fixes. Here are the changes you can expect:

- Fixed a bug where enemies were able to pass through the roof
- Added a difficulty scaler to make the game more challenging as you play with more players
- Fixed a bug where players who weren't the host experienced latency issues or their hits on enemies didn't register properly
- Added a hitmark and a crosshair to improve your accuracy and visual feedback
- Fixed a bug where enemies could still attack you after they were already defeated
- Achievements have been fixed and are now working properly
