Hello friends, we are nearing the end of the Officer Skills Update that we have been working on. We have created a "Work in Progress" video for this new feature that we will be adding to the game, and we would like to ask players how we can further improve the system and get feedback before we finalize it.

First of all, it should be said that we designed these "skills" as "softwares", which is slightly different from the classic definition of "skill" in RPG games and more in line with the science fiction theme.

There are consoles on the bridge of the mother ship that each officer controls, and we have defined the "skills" in the game as "softwares" installed on these consoles.


Practically speaking, we can also define this software as algorithms that make it easier for the officers to create new tactics on the battlefield by intervening and manipulating various procedures of the mother ship.

During the game, the player can gain new "abilities" by installing the necessary software onto the console. Of course, different "softwares" can be found on different space stations and planets in the game. Or, if the player scans the wreckage of a space ship or space station, they will have the opportunity to find different/surprising softwares.

On the other hand, not every software will work on every consoles. Softwares are divided into 4 categories: "Captain", "XO", "Tactical Officer", "Engineer Officer"... Of course, the effectiveness of each software will give results related to the level and personal skills of each officer.


It may be more useful to answer this question by using an example to explain the tactical richness and endless combinations that these abilities bring to the game: In this picture, for example, we can see that the third software on Captain Lionheart's console is called "BURN'em ALL".

When this ability is active, the captain overloads the mothership's engines, causing them to emit a great deal of heat and radiation. As a result, enemy ships attempting to attack the Mothership from the rear will take heavy damage when they enter the rear area, which has become a "death trap" due to the searing heat and radiation emitted by the engines.

Additionally, by simultaneously activating one of the Tactical Officer's abilities, Missile Barrage, you can hit these enemy ships with special missiles filled with very high amounts of explosives, causing damage to the enemy's internal equipment/engines and slowing them down. In this case, they will move much slower in the "death trap" behind the ship, staying in the area longer and taking even more damage.

In the currently released version (v.0.7g), you have the opportunity to try 12 softwares on the Bridge panel. In addition, 50 softwares are ready for release, but we plan to prepare 100+ softwares before the update, and new surprise softwares will probably be added to the game in updates after the game is released.

Of course, when the player starts the game, each officer will have a maximum of 1 software installed on their console, and these will be the most basic level softwares.

However, as the player travels through the galaxy and levels up, they will have the chance to find more advanced softwares, and while they save them for their inventory, they will have the opportunity to change the installed software on the consoles whenever they want.

-The tutorial page for Scan and Loot was missing in the old version, it has been added to the “How To Play” section.

Now Neural Network not only speeds up or slows down the game, but also provides bonuses to the player. When you set the Neural Network to the “Slow” or “Tactical” speed setting, this technically means that the brain and body functions of your entire crew and pilots will reach a speed that can compete with artificial intelligence. As a player, you may find the tactical map “slowed down”, but on the battlefield, your tiny NPCs have gained a significant advantage over the AI. They can target the enemy better, they can hit more critical/sensitive points of the enemy and so on:

1. With Slow Speed, all your weapons do x1.5 more damage.
   
2. With Tactical Speed, all your weapons do x2 more damage.

Neural Network is now closer to its purpose in the story.


Officer skills will go live shortly. We are preparing hundreds of new skills for officers and pilots. But before we go live with this major update, we wanted to see a small test live...

For now, you can only see the first 3 abilities of the XO on The Bridge Panel. The first two of these abilities are currently active for testing purposes.

One of them freezes the countdown of the Neural Network for 30 seconds.
The other one increases The Father's speed by 50% for 30 seconds.

If you use both abilities, you'll be able to keep time fast for a longer period of time and increase The Father's speed by 1.5 times, allowing you to cross large gaps in space faster.

Or, if you prefer, you can use Neural Network's “tactical speed” for longer, allowing you to utilize the x2 damage advantage against large groups of enemies for longer.
