Kenshi
Over one-thousand squads
So I don't know whether this should be in modding or not cuz I -do- have mods. But just not any major mods. Just small ones that add small stuff.

Anyway, so I literally only just realised on an import that I have like over 1000 squads... I do not know why. I looked through all my saves and... yep. They all have a thousand or more squads.

The issue is that I don't actually know which saves have my characters in anymore. I just deleted *most* of them so I can widdle them down in-game. Its a simple fix I guess. My main question, mod issue or not, what the hell happened?? I mean, I was 100% aware of Kenshi's... wonky.... code coming in first time but this is... something else.

EDIT: No, it was not a simple fix. Turns out when I delete them via the platoon folder... guess what? They don't delete themselves in-game. That's fun!

EDIT: I love autoclickers.

well mods cannot add more squads to the player faction, so if your team has 1000 squads you probably used an auto-clicker to accidentally make thousand new squads.

Mods can however add more squads to the world, but if you especially went under the Nameless folder when save editing and all 1000 squads were under there....

Your characters should be in the oldest/first squad.

It is a predicament rarely seen, if ever, so I am not sure how that can be fixed, apart from starting a totally new game. What you could do, if you are able, to visit a plastic surgeon and export each character bod2 file. Then you could take a screenshot of each character gear and stats and make yourself a start mod that adds those characters as start characters with the gear and stats and enough money to cover what you had possibly built and all the research (including default start) your faction had already completed.

And maybe turn the auto clicker off XD

Nah, I only downloaded an autoclicker to manually delete all the mods. I had no autoclicker when it happened so.... Well, its fixed now soo... Still have no clue how it happened tho

Do you perhaps have a mod that adds some AI to player squads? Such as:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1173940466

This mod for example sends raids to your base using squads of your own faction, they spawn empty but still show up i the squad list, and have their AI attached. If you have that mod or similar and just left it on and running it could generate tons of empty squads over time.

Otherwise no clue, very odd issue. Do you maybe have an unusual faction name? An odd name could lead to unusual issues with it saving the squad data.

As far as I'm aware, no I don't have any mods like that. I mean, I fixed it by simply deleting all excess squads one by one so its no longer and issue. I guess my game is just haunted or something.
