Nudging
I always get confused with these nudge setups.

If I need to select the key for "nudging TO the left", it should be a key on the RIGHT side of the keyboard, shouldn't it? It's like giving the table a push on the right side.

So are the defaults reversed? Or is the text wrong?

You nudge/controll the table itself, not your hand like in real life.
That's why left nudge is on a left key.

It sounds like you're imagining pulling on he corners of the table instead of pushing on them.

Imagine standing at a real pinball machine with your hands on the paddle buttons on either side. If you push from the right side, the table moves to the left but the ball wants to stay where it is while the table moves underneath it. The effect is the ball moves towards the right side.

Likewise in reverse for a push on the left side.

Now insert a keyboard into that idea. Same hands on the keys do the same things.

Oooh.. ok, that was an eye opener..

It's from the perspective of the ball.
Now it makes sense :steamhappy:

Thanks for the explanation!
