Same for my Xbox controller, it's just not working.

This is steam, guys. You should just go to the contoller settings and set your contoller as xbox compatible even if it isn't.

I have my settings set on steam already, no difference. I even get the popup from steam that it's loaded my configuration.

Same. It says it's loaded configuration, but it's not working.

I was able to get the control to work. I went into the local folder on my computer and ran the pad.exe application. I left it open during game play, and the control worked fine. I'm using an Xbox 360 control.

This worked for me too, i use an PS2 Controller and if i Start the pad.exe it worked.

Absolutely shameful that this issue - which has been occurring since 2013 - still hasn't been patched by the developer.

Same here, first they are using only steam controller settings (which can be pretty useful for some platforms but not on PC). Second even using steam controller settings, the inputs of controllers are not recognised. Tried with 3 different controller (playsattion, xbox one, xbox 360/pc) no one input is recognised. Consider controller support broken.

I followed the above steps while connecting 4 different controllers without result. (for some users might work tho).

You just have to change compatibility settings > run as administrator in both .exe files (Evoland.exe & pad.exe) and voila!

Controller works on Steam Deck, fyi if you have one
