That's not true why do people keep saying that? Yes ac1 did not, but it did have them on 360. Ac2 infact did have uplay achs, I unlocked everyone. Then ubi removed them, no reason was ever given.
They are a strange random company.
I don't recall "Assassin's Creed 2" ever having Uplay achievements but if it did and they removed them, I don't see them adding them to Steam now.
You can look it up they really did use to have achs, they even unlocked some kinda ubi points for unlocked downloads.
As an example FC BD never had core achievements connected to it, just regular ubi achs. Just like ac2, but those achievements were removed and they never even gave a reason as to why.
And its really odd considering those are the two games that started the ac franchise, a billion dollar franchise (literally look it up ac has made billions worldwide), and yet they refuse to give their original games an update? Even if it was ac collection remastered or something that'd be some acknowledgement.
Especially since ac1 is really the only one in the series true to the original history of the word assassin and where the sect even came from.
Challenges were there from day one. It was one of main marketing draws, like "play our games, do challenges, gain points and unlock rewards".
The achievements were added later on as people were asking for them (there was a time some people gave Uplay a chance)
There was a website called "Initiates". The achievements for AC2 and few other AC games were tracked by this site if you signed in with your Uplay credentials. So I believe it is possible for them to tweak the code that is there to make it work with Steam (or even current Connect version?) but I doubt anyone would be up for the task. That would be a lot of code reviewing, and I don't think that's what they are doing now with all those achievements.
It did. I remember it well because they had an anniversary event when they increased rewards for completing challenges in FC games. I managed to gain 200 'Uplay Units' on BD alone - therefore two discounts on Ubisoft Slo... Store. Good times.
Terrible company honestly, unsubscribing I don't need a back and forth.
That's what I mean.
I am going to be surprised if they do anything with AC2 achievements. I prefer to be pleasantly surprised though.
