Problems with Archers
After installing todays patch i get the feeling my archers (european and arabic) don't fire on their own as usual. their default stance is "hold the ground" and i can't change it. i played 2 games and placed them on the biggest tower and stuffed it with archers. it seemed like only 5 of like 40 archers fired on their own, the others needed a command to fire. once issued they would first kill the target than everything that moves. if no one was left they went back to: "oh know what should i do with this bow".
Anybody else got a probleme like that?

Were the 5 archers the archers at the front of the tower or was it random?

Maybe I am crazy but for some reason my crossbow men don't seem to attack properly either and then when I tell them to attack a specific target they walk up to it and attack it with their daggers instead of shooting with their crossbows from range - anyone else run into this ? In Stronghold Crusader I never had this problem - Crossbowmen were awesome.

I have the same problem with my archers are not shooting by themself since the last patch... They are just hanging around on my towers and die -.- It's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up that they dont test their patches before they deliver it :(

Line of sight was fixed sorry guys no more 1 billion archers on towers, aka working as intended?

Archers still shoot if placed in a formation with many rows deep, so apparently not.

Probably not, game is still kill multiplayer wise judging from the Lobby

The Archer issue has been resolved a hotfix is now available for it via Steam.

Where is this hotfix? I just started playing this game again and am having this problem.

I used to play this a lot in 2018-2019 and never had this problem before. I've tried everything I can. I dismissed my archers and recruited new ones, I've tried different maps, I verified the integrity of my files on Steam, and un/reinstalled the game. I even bought the DLCs thinking that maybe the hotfix was in one of them.

The archer is a pretty important early game ranged unit and if it's basically worthless now the early game is much more difficult in a way that is unfair. How do I fix this to make the game playable again?
