I experienced something really odd this evening.

I jumped into Pinball M to do the daily challenges real quick. I hit the "A" button to select the first challenge, but then it would not respond to the "A" button on my controller to start the game.


I could start the game with the keyboard, but not the controller. But it DID respond to it in the menu screens before that point.

Pinball FX and FX3 both did the same thing.

I went to the "Game Controllers" module of the Control Panel, and all of the controller buttons and joysticks were reading A-OK.

Went back to Steam and jumped into Zaccaria Pinball. It was fine. Pinball Arcade. fine. I played a few other non-pinball games. All fine. Checked on Steam Input but it was not active on any of these games.

I quit from Steam, power cycled my PC, and tried again. Same thing.

Thought there might be a Steam Cloud conflict so I checked the "pinball corner" computer. It was working just fine.

I didn't know what else to do so I uninstalled and then REINSTALLED all 3 programs (not across my LAN). I tried again. Same thing.

Finally... on a whim, even though I'd already unplugged the USB receiver and then plugged it back in. I tried power cycling the controller.

Now everything was back to normal. No problem in any game.

Weird.
