i loved the game aesthetic, the boss is kinda nice but i suggest to add more "checkpoints" you can "re-materialize" to during levels, because obtaining the hidden health upgrade was a hellish experience considering there is only one point where your position is "recorded" outside of the start of that platforming challenge room, my suggestion is to make every safe platform a place where you can return after taking electrical damage or fall into pits instead of just the start of the level, kinda like hollow ...

Died many times.

I wanna start with the positives. The game feels really fluid (heh cause its paint) and handles really well. I like the aesthetic of the whole demo and see lots of ways to expand the premise. It feels a lot like other platforms but feels better then most (on part with Celeste and Hollow Knight) Now the critics: It might be because this way a demo, but I got stuck for a very long time on the final Heart Piece area. There are very few checkpoints in that area, and it requires exact timing on many of the jum...

I rely on the map in metroidvanias to know what I have missed and this is an important time saver for large open maps. This map system doesn't seem to cover this, it simply gives a sense of how to travel between rooms, but I can't see if i've missed anything within the room. I don't think it even shows room exits until you discover them, so if you don't fully explore a room before moving onto the next you may have no indication on the map to remind you this room needs revisiting, if you missed something y...

I mean, it does have some new ideas, but it's kinda icky how it plays and feels so close to Hollow Knight. I feel there's a lot of things to do even in the metroidvania platformer space, and it's hard to deny the importance of HK in the gaming landscape. But this follows it too closely....
