The demo that is currently up on Steam is from Gamescom 2023 and therefore heavily outdated. We originally wanted to take it offline after the convention concluded, but since people are still playing it and we even have a small speedrunning community on our Discord[discord.com], we decided to leave it up for now. However this means that most of the feedback we get was already addressed in some way.
That's why we compiled this little Demo F.A.Q. for the most common offenders! :)

Constance will release in late 2025!

We are planning to release on PC and all current consoles! Whether support for last-gen consoles (like PS4/Xbox One) is possible will depend on if they are still supported when we near our release date.

Currently, basic attacks can only be performed horizontally. For vertical attacks, you can use the Stab ability, although it consumes paint and is therefore not as versatile. Implementing vertical basic attacks is frequently discussed within the team, but it has some game design implications that need to be resolved first. We heard you, though!

You heal yourself by meditating at a Shrine or collecting Heal Feathers (which fill up Constance's blanket). These feathers can be collected by dashing/diving through "feather cages" or destroying destructible objects in the environment (vases, candle stands, etc.).

We are also experimenting with additional healing sources for the final game. For example, our inspiration system offers a great way to add additional healing sources (lifesteal anyone?).

We are receiving a pretty diverse set of opinions on our paint (a.k.a. stamina) system. Most love it, some hate it. Our goal here is to prevent mindlessly spamming abilities without prohibiting the player from using them after the paint runs out (but for a price). Finding the right paint/life cost per ability is a hard balance to strike and has already changed quite a bit from the current Steam demo (dash cost reduced, etc.). Also, keep in mind that the paint bar will continuously grow as you get stronger in the final game, so paint management becomes less and less of an issue.

Yes, we plan to make the game's music available for everyone to enjoy. More details will follow as we approach the release.
