It was the first language deciphering game I played. I like the idea of having to learn a language to understand your decisions, characters, and the world itself. Very immersive game because of the way you have to actually pay attention to what you're doing and how you can easily die if you don't make the right choice. You can save the game at any given time. The way the game is formatted in a way that makes it very easy to go back and forth between choices or parts. The lore is very good but a little hard to understand and piece together, but once you start to pace through the game you start to understand. The characters in the game can be quite scary. There are quite a bit of jump scares in the game and wet noises. If you are easily disturbed it might not be your type of game! The game can also be quite charming? Especially with one of the main characters that is attached to your hip. But other then that there is a ton of endings and chapters to unlock and can take some time to complete, but when you get them all you feel pretty rewarded. This game can be so satisfying because you never know who might pop up. I highly recommend this game. :D

The mechanics is great but the storyline is really jagged and confused. The translation part is already hard as it is so maybe the story can be more streamlined.

Also, the localization is very adaptable to the english language which may create weird cases when translating the in-game language if English is not your native.

For example, creatures in the game address the protagonist as 'they' which is, in this case, a gender neutral pronoun when sex of the individual is irrelevant but my native language doesn't have gender neutral pronouns. Thus, I personally had trouble translating some words. In this case, I translated 'they' as 'she' (the protagonist had a feminine voice) and got REALLY confused when the game displayed 'she' when addressing multiple of something. There was more cases like this but this was the most relevant I can remember.

The language part of this game is absolutely amazing. You have to definitely lock in for it but if you're looking for a language puzzle game that you can understand through trial and error you're going to have a great time just don't freak out over not knowing every single word. and of course everyone who has played this game is down bad for just about everyone and I sure you will be to

such a unique concept, i absolutely love the characters and how the story starts to unravel after each pass through. it was pretty difficult building my dictionary, but super satisfying once i had the hang of everything. i'd kill for mr. crawling

This game came outta nowhere — made by a solo dev, and it's honestly a masterpiece. Really fresh concept, and the characters are just chef's kiss.
It's a horror otome, so yeah, there are some jump scares, but you get used to them pretty quick. Nothing too gory or nightmare-fuel though.
No multi-language support, but honestly most of the game is figuring out what the ghosts are saying anyway, and the Japanese isn't too difficult. Totally playable without any translation patches.
Oh, and btw I'm absolutely obsessed with Mr. Machete. He's just so damn hot. I literally screamed when he first appeared on screen.
Only downside? Right when it feels like the story's about to get really good… boom, it's over. Super abrupt ending. Maybe that's supposed to be "artistic"? Still pretty disappointing though.
Also, we NEED some DLC!! I'm dying for all those unused concept art pieces and settings, not just the artbook and random lore tweets.
Can't wait to see what this dev does next — really hoping for another otome!
