Do you think Sega will ever work on DRM compatibility with Linux?
With the way Sega seems to keep Denuvo on all of its titles, their games pretty much require online connectivity for booting every time on a linux based platform.

If it was just an inconvienence for up to the first year I'd understand, but I do a lot of mobile gaming and almost all of their titles I can't play oftentimes. Pretty much have stopped buying any of their games, unless a deep discount is present to justify the restrictions.

Does anyone think/know if they'll improve things? Considering Linux is starting to gain some ground in the PC gaming sphere, especially with the handheld market, I'm hopeful but corporations aren't always willing to adapt.

You must be doing something wrong if you are activating denuvo all of the time. Should be able to even move a whole steam library folder drive from one steam pc to another without triggering it.
If it's on Windows, then they worked fine.

But Linux or on the Steam Deck, then it demands the internet each time. This is even with the Deck being unmodified in any way. This is a pretty well known issue.

From my experience on Linux I've never encountered such a problem, I also play these games offline on my Steam Deck a lot. Usually DENUVO triggers by changing the Proton version, since it registers it as running the game on a whole new system. 5 activations a day can be really annoying alongside the performance degradation from simply having DENUVO.

If you don't wanna deal with it I'd simply recommend not buying games with DENUVO until it has been removed

This confuses me as I'm not actively changing proton versions. Literally if I run a game like Persona 4 Golden online, then exit and cut the internet, and try booting the game again Denuvo throws a fit.

This happens with every Sega game having denuvo that I own, and I'd be fine with waiting but they never remove it.

Try to get some screenshots and submit a ticket with Valve. These kind of rare errors can be helpful to get Proton in a better state. I know it's not what you were hoping to hear but maybe they can get it to someone that can investigate it.

I'll give this a shot, thanks man.
If I get anything that works I'll post an update
