did you have japanese language installed in your PC?

if the default language of the game is Japanese, i think maybe this the cause.

The default audio is Japanese, but in my case, I ended up playing with graphics options settings and it started to work. Interestingly, I was able to revert back to the settings I actually want, and it still works. Launcher looks like it's on 1.0.1 now, so maybe they did a hotfix and I didn't notice, but I'm good now.

English localization errors:

Missing spaces in the Relationship Chart:

- "Sworn Enemies(Dislike)" should be "Sworn Enemies (Dislike)".
- "Sworn Enemies(Grudge)" should be "Sworn Enemies (Grudge)".

Grammatical errors in the Water Mirror Lessons tale:

- Sima Hui: "The easiest way to gain a person's favor is to interact with them and have discuss." "Have discuss" should be "have discussions" or just "discuss."
- Sima Yi: "I see. So I should interact, have discuss, and give gifts." Again, "have discuss" should be "have discussions" or "discuss."

Edit: This is somewhat confusing due to the fact that there are two separate interaction options labeled "Discuss" and "Discussion." "Discussion" is the noun form of the verb "discuss" in English, so these labels essentially mean exactly the same thing. "Debate" seems like a more intuitive label for "Discussion."

There are some additional missing parentheses in the English localization on the Public Order screen. Some examples:

- 1 Officers(0 Within Facility; 1 Within City)
- Public Order 68 -> 74(+6)
- Gold 350 -> 340(-10)
- Action Points 200 -> 140(-60)

In each case, there should be a space before the leading parenthesis. Similar missing spaces can be found elsewhere as well.

Also, "1 Officers" is ungrammatical and should instead read either "1 Officer" or "1 Officer(s)."
