Having read a decent amount of vns, this one isn't bad at all. The story is very simple and the game doesn't take itself too serious. Most of the characters in the game are enjoyable especially Monica lol. Overall its not bad at all. My main dislike about the game is the way it ended suddenly for season 1 and it could use an upgrade on animations but other than that I had a good time reading it. Would recommend and looking foward to season 2.

Now about the game, what starts as a fairly generic entry does eventually turn out to have a cool mystery and story towards the latter half.
Every single LI has her merits and I enjoy the paths for all of them.
The writing has come a long long way since the earlier episodes of the original version of the game and I find myself actually laughing out loud a bunch with a lot of these jokes as it seems the devs humour almost mirrors my own and that just makes it better an experience for me.

As someone who has been playing this game for years now, let me tell you that Where the Heart Is is one of the best adult games I've ever played. Seeing the game get remastered and expanded for a release on Steam is very exciting, as now others will finally be able to experience this amazing story!

When is comes to adult games, there needs to be a solid balance between story and sexy scenes. When it comes to the story, this game has a lot of 'heart' (sorry). The characters have well defined personalities with their own concerns and goals in life. The MC, depending on your choices of course, helps these wonderful women realize their potential and feel genuinely loved. Well, as loved as a woman can be in a harem of course (optional, but good luck playing the game for only one girl!) There's a solid amount of drama surrounding the MC's inheritance. Finding out who the other inheritors are and the conditions of MC's will (which dictates the sacrifices he and others must make) is a great catalyst for the story and dramatic moments. In summary, the story serves this game well and keeps you invested through a solid mystery and characters that are genuinely interesting.

Now for the sexy bits, this game doesn't skimp! The quality of the renders and models are top notch. Every sex scene has multiple animations that can normally be sped up or slowed down. The animations are smooth and provide good angles and framing to really accentuate the kinky nature of the scene. As these scenes are really the whole point of this kind of game, rest assured that they are handled very well and are of a very high quality! And for the Steam release, the author has added sounds that elevate the scenes even more!

Season 1 of WTHI will get you HOURS of content, especially if you slow down to read everything. When I clicked through the game as fast as I could, already knowing which options I wanted and skipping all the dialogue, it still took me hours to get towards the end of this game. The price is definitely fair for this product, and in no way is it cheating the consumer. As for future releases, I've been a patron of theirs for years now. The author is very hard working and has others helping them in producing the game. The final episode of the game is being worked on right now, and that will be followed by Steam releases of the entire game, likely in a second and third 'season' release format. Season 1 is only the beginning, and the author WILL FINISH this game on Steam. There is no reality where this product is not finished, so breathe easy knowing that the game will not be abandoned and the full game will be released in the not so distant future!
