Wow. Parry completely trivializes the game. Needs to be nerfed. Wow.
I've played the whole game 100% longsword, but I never bothered to get the parry because I was spending my points to get the +5 stat nodes in other trees. I got dumped into the bride's lair the first time with low health and no heals so she killed me, but I thought she had a cool moveset, so I decided that would be the fight that I would learn the parry timing on. I seriously expected it to take a couple of hours.

So imagine my surprise when I downed her first phase on the first try, only using one heal. I will just tell it like it is: the parry window in this game is so disgustingly wide that you could drive a busload of obese Reddit miladys right through it. As long as you press the button kind of, sort of, vaguely in the vicinity of the time the attack hits, it's a clean parry. I had seen people say parrying made Honglan easy and I just assumed they were good at the game. No. Parrying is actually so objectively easy that if you *can't* do it, you are genuinely terrible at soulslike games and should not play them.

I would say that realistically, the window is about 5x as long as Lies of P or Berserker Khazan. And the thing that's even more absurd is that in those games, a perfect parry would just do chip damage to the boss's guard meter. Here, shockingly, a *SINGLE* parry (with an extremely wide window) allows you to semi-stagger the boss, counterattack them, and maybe even knock them down. It is absolutely absurd.

This almost ruins the game for me, because there's very little accomplishment in beating it when a basic ability is so blatantly overpowered. It needs to be nerfed massively so that you can no longer disable/counter the enemy from a single parry. The parries should only do chip damage to the boss's guard meter, and it should take about 20-30 perfect parries (with the window cut in half from what it is now) to stagger a boss.

I hate it when people don't include a tl;dr in walls of texts....
Not really news tbh the clashing can be pretty easy too at times. It balances out though for most players. Given everything else I shouldn't have to explain.
you don't even have game

It's on GameAss, you know.
''This feature I didn't use for most of the game, makes the game too easy for me. Nerf it now!''

This has to be one of the most ridiculous narcisistic posts I have seen on the internet and I have been on the internet for more than 30 years.

20 to 30 perfect parries to stagger a boss once? It's nice that you have the spare time to spend an hour on a boss fight, but most of us would get rather bored when the challenge is no longer about the fight itself, but rather about being able to stay focused for 45 minutes in order to defeat a boss.

''This ruins the game for me'' Don't use the feature if you dislike it so much, asking for it to be changed entirely in a single player game just so that it will suit your preference is beyond ridiculous. This reminds me of people complaining about spirit summons in Elden Ring or about Bonfire kindling in Dark Souls, it's entirely optional and you can decide to stear clear of it if it makes the experience too easy for you.

Does your peepee feel good when you pretend you're such a hard ass that only diabolical difficulty is enough to challenge you? Perhaps instead of using your controller or mouse and keyboard you can use a dancemat and play Wuchang on one screen and Khazan on another and play them simultaneously while blindfolded with your wrists chained to your waist.

I am pretty sure, parry, just like clashing, doesn't work on monsters that don't use weapons.
Pretty sure ull meet plenty of bosses and npc who dont care about ur parry spam.

Like if you try spamming clash against Honglain she will do stomps or kungfu combos on you. Likewise guys like Ming General will throw snow in your face or kick you flat on the ground.
Only works on some bosses... all the weapons have some "broken" stuff... but I think they intended this and it creates a cool dynamic (e.g. the dual blades clash + leach)... but again not effective at all times which IMO is more of a problem.

OP must have used the Sekiro mod to be able to parry attacks from monsters, and other attacks that can't be parried. Only that mod allows you to parry every attack under the sun.
Sure Parry is strong against weapon wielders but dual blades with blademaster and leech is stronger. It balances out by half the bosses not using weapons. The game is designed around you changing your build and armor loadout per boss which is why I really wish it had a way to save specs and loadouts to swap on the fly.
The game goes ape sht on the player but gives the player op mechanics to deal with it, its very fun when it clicks.
Wow. Okay. Wow.
