It has it's own... feel I guess?
You'll need some time to adjust, trying to bulldoze through is guaranteed to end in being frustrated out
It's harder than most games in this genre in my opinion, but it's not impossible. Just check it out on GameAss if you're unsure about getting it.
Boss difficulty? Honestly I don't remember. I haven't done Scorpionlord and Erlang in Wukong and I missed Demon of Obsession in Wuchang so far. But I think difficulty is kinda similar
Wukong had one build the game was balanced around.
Wuchang has a lot more tedium thought.
In Nioh you can slow enemies, spam buffs, and have ninjutsu revives.
This game has its own cheese builds of course but it also requires some skill from the player.
But boss-wise I found Wukong harder. It was hard in the beginning in this game when you don't have much skills or potions, but it gets easier as you go
Difficulty aside, I think Wuchang is the better game, in the main because of the amazing mix of horror and ancient Chinese mythology. It's like Chinese Bloodborne.
It literally does lmao.

Wukong has a lot of invisible walls that make no sense to prevent you from going anywhere they don't want you to go.
