IMO I don't think there is anything. Because not one game out there that I know of has Thumping, which was one of the things I loved the most.

But, if you don't mind pvp you can play Planetside 2. You can at least work on unlocking mods for your weapons, and vehicles, and the battles are the biggest I've ever seen. But, there is no rpg storytelling elements to it. It's just plain shooter fun in an mmo setup

in the past decade there hasn't been a game out there like firefall. the size and scope of the game was massive, the open world events alone were huge - involving up to hundreds of players working in an open world to complete a single objective whether that be melding tornadoes, baneclaw, or extracting resources with thumpers. Unless Mark Kern pulls his head out of his third point of contact and finds a way to bring it back - there will never be another game like it ever again.

I dont think i ever seen anything that comes close to the Firefall feeling, everything just grabs a few parts of missing the key elements.

Deep rock galactic catched the invading bug feeling nicely but its an entirely different game for example. I heard that Genshin impact catched the gliding part well but thats a gatcha anime game.

Icarus has a form of thumping, but it's nothing like Firefall.

Anthem was the closest scratch for my itch. I didnt play it upon release, but bought it on sale about a year ago. It had some content issues and got a lot of hate, but for the $6 I spent, I enjoyed the 100 ish hours I got out of it. But unfortunately it wont be getting anymore updates from EA. That one definitely had the most potential (imo). Jet flight, decent sized open play area with random encounters you could pop in and help others with, boss raids, etc. Heck there is event an event that reminds me of the melding tornado where you go through the rift at the end and have to do some objectives before it closes for some loot. Honestly I think if EA had found the Firefall fanbase and made some content to draw us in they would have had a solid base of players to keep that one alive.

don't know if it's still going or not, but this game reminded me alot of 'Perfect World International' when I first played it...:-)
