Reworked backup save file system for Windows to prevent save file corruption

Hello everyone, it's been a while but I'm back with three big pieces of news!


Wing Haven is a game about populating wildlife sanctuaries with rare birds! It's a spiritual successor to Chillquarium, but I'm really excited about the variety that comes from having new biomes to build in and fill with native plant species. If you are interested, you can head over to the Steam page and add it to your wishlist, it does a lot for the Steam algorithm if you do!

For the time being, Wing Haven is still in the early stages of development, and I'm super excited for where it will end up. For now that means that I don't have a target release date in mind -- it will be ready once it's ready. And don't worry, this doesn't mean I'm abandoning Chillquarium any time soon! I plan to continue development for both games in tandem moving forward. Which brings me to announcement number 2....


The main content of this update is an extra pack of fish to play with, but I've also added a few quality of life improvements that have been heavily requested.

• Introducing Spring Pals, a new pack of freshwater fish to discover!
  
• Added an extra freshwater and saltwater tank, so you now have more room for all your fish!
  
• Added the ability to rename your tanks, finally!

And last but not least...

Hey everyone! I'm super excited to announce that myco, the creator of (the) Gnorp Apologue and I have teamed up to create a bundle on Steam! (the) Gnorp Apologue is another awesome solo-developed idle game. It is immensely satisfying and very well polished. Added an extra layer of protection against save file corruption.

Fixed a bug where certain simplified Chinese characters did not show up in certain circumstances.

-Fixed a bug where money values did not display for certain players
-Fixed a bug where the "Rainbow Rule" was not applying to Mythic fish

Hello everyone! Merry Fishmas to you all!

I'm back, with a new update to Chillquarium! Things have been really busy at work but I'm finally ready to push a new build.



Chillquarium now supports Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian! Huge thanks to the folks at IndieArk for their excellent translations!

• Added a mythic fish to each pack which is 10x rarer than the legendaries! (Not required for achievements)
  
• Added some additional painted colorings for some of the fish! These have a chance to appear once the standard painted fish has been discovered. Some fish have multiple alternate painted varieties!
  
• All baby sharks now have their own unique sprites, instead of sharing just one!
  

• Added a "Reduced Clicking" option, which greatly reduces the number of clicks required to buy and open packs
  
• Added a "Buy Max" button, for buying as many packs as possible with a single click
  
• Gold fish now have a 25% chance to increase rarity level if all golden fish at the existing rarity are discovered. This effects stacks, so there is a 1/16 chance of a double-promotion.
  
• Various UI tweaks and minor bugfixes.
  

Implementing translations has taken a large amount of development time, but I'm very excited as it means Chillquarium can be experienced by a much greater variety of gamers. I hope you all have fun finding the new painted fish!
