is it true this is only single player?? this game seems perfect for online play!

other than, "its been abandoned", I want to know how this game plays in an unbiased way.

I've been following this game off and on for over a year now, and I love it. I love the shipyard, i love the design layout. It has wonderful potential, but I had noticed that the reviews suddenly went all negative, and they were talking about the game being finally released. Had to look, and sure enough it had.. I've been looking at the store page and the forum and I can't tell, is the game 'finished'? What I mean is that is it still in development in the sense of content updates or in the sense of not being 'done' yet?

When i left it was a completely different ship building system with little dots to mark connect points, i've come back and i don't know if there is just something im missing, but if anyone remembers pieces would snap together nicely along those blue dots so you could make a nice long stretch of a particular block without having to worry whether or not they were aligned. Is there any sort of similar method of doing so with the new build or do i have to align them manually now?...
