Got to the first boss after dealing with the constant motion sickness the game loves living in and I gotta tap out. Damage sponging a boss with limited feedback and allowing him to do literal explosive gobs of damage in a game that at that point, worked very hard to whittle the player characters health down (while causing status effects that actually stop you from using healing items) in both reasonable (enemies in numbers with rush mechanics that arent tanky) and unreasonable (pointless jumpscare whittle down attacks in previously explored and unexplored zones; enemy nests respawning because they couldn't be bothered to make a in game render cutscene that actually acknowledged the kills) manners was not worth the actual headache this game causes. That and dealing with the horrible green noise/static filter they implemented.
For context on the damage, even in the rookie difficulty it is roughly around 1/8 of your lifebar (not counting the fire damage) at minimum (the damage varies as if its not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ outrageous enough) and it throws these barrels at a breakneck pace.
Also for those who end up installing and then playing, 2 tips:
-During the install process do NOT allow it to repair the redistributable it installed. Hit cancel. It'll play the game.
-Turn off the steam aspect that lets you know friends are online. This in widescreen means you lose critical portions of your screen due to its size.
