wood wall in the final mission 'Ascension'
I have been trying to get through a hidden wall I found, in the section with the creeper/anticreeper multiplying trees. Part of the ceiling there is wood (burnable) but I can't seem to get to it. Firing embers at it doesn't set it on fire and I have been unable to pile up enough terrain to reach it with oil or boomzene.

Has anyone found a way to light it on fire?

Yes, firing embers at it does work but I have the most success shooting diagonally upwards, not directly upwards. It takes a few shots to make the wood catch even when shooting diagonally but you can light it.

IIRC It goes down a really long path that just leads to a conversion bomb, which you absolutely would have regenerated to max anyways while waiting for the wood to burn. I don't really understand the point of it.

The conversion bomb pickups increase your maximum that your bar regenerates to

If you fire enough embers at it while touching it (by using your jetpack), it'll burn. That's what worked for me, anyway.
