It the game dead? No more custom maps
Hello,
I am really enjoying the game but what made creeper world games fun for me was it's longlivety through user lcreated levels.
But I've managed to play all of the custom levels so far (few of them I didn't for the quality reasons) but that never happened to me in previous entries. There was just way too much.
Is this game dead already in a sense that creators are not interested enough to create content for it?
It is really sad because I was hoping to see some interesting ideas with the sand physics and / or combinations of elements. :(
I would suggest to developer to make some sort of research into demand for next kind of game - whatever it will be.

Life is a little busy out there, if you haven't noticed. The game is released, and if you want to create maps, please do, no one is stopping you.

So you are saying that I should create maps for me to play? What?
I was tring to create an discussion about longlivety of creeper world games and how creative the community surrounding creating custom maps is.

Alright, let's do a comparison; which may (or may not) clear things up.

TLDR:
I'd say no

Summary:
CW IXE is less than half as popular as CW4 but has only been out for 70 days.
CW IXE averages over 2 custom maps per day; this is above average but less than CW3 and CW4.
At the moment, the *average* person, who is currently playing, uploads more maps than any other previous game. The same is true for any player who has ever played (excluding CW1/CW2 [which peak player data is extremely suspect]).
I think these numbers tend to decrease over time, and I don't have the patience to gather that historical data for other games to account for that.

Allow people some time to get acquainted with the scripting API's. We only got the full documentation around a month ago. Some really unique and interesting modes are already popping up in the custom maps, which is actually really soon compared to the previous games I believe.

It's undeniable this game is not as popular as CW4, but even Particle Fleet accumulated a sizable collection of maps despite being the least popular KC game ever made due to poor branding.

Updated comparison for April 2025

Summary:
Once again, CW:IXE falls below CW4 and CW3; but still well above the 'dead' games (CW1,CW2,PF).
As suspected, the average maps per day decreases over time - all games have a considerable lower average over the past 56 days than the average since release.

Opinion:
IXE is slowing down, but still not 'dead'. I expect that IXE will end up above CW1,CW2,PF but well below CW3/4. Based on recent trends, I suspect that IXE will NOT reach 300 custom maps by the end of the year; but it should be well above 200.

It is my (very?) personal opinion that the Quality of IXE maps is much higher than the average map from the other games.

Takes me about 1 to two weeks to make a fun an enjoyable 30minute to 60minute map if u want more maps honestly learn to make them also and you can also become part of the fix for more maps to play :3
