This game is NOT compatible with WIndows 8 and beyond! Read the guide on the Steam Workshop, or run this in a Virtual Machine with 3D acceleration on at most Windows 7 (ideally Windows XP).

- Visually still decent, despite the age.
- Quests and Gameplay vary by class.

- RPG? What RPG? This is just a Leveling System...
- The good old triplet of Melee, Ranged and Magic.
- The Inventory lacks most Quality of Life improvements that games predating it has - including its predecessor.
- Seraphim is a favoured race, as you will find far more gear for Seraphim than for any other class.
- There's no clear separation between Acts, so you'll end up stumbling into Act 2 before you completed Act 1.

- Lack of any and all World or Story building via Quests or Books.
- The Physics Engine and Game Logic is tied to the Framerate, often breaking above 60 FPS.
- Ranged/Magic Combat uses physical projectiles, resulting in you missing because your projectile hit a tree, or the auto-targeting didn't track the enemy properly.
- Enemies always scale to your level, turning them into damage sponges, no matter what level you are.
- Combat is entirely RNG based, often resulting in combat being padded to infinity because both sides keep missing.

As much fun as it was in 2008. Get yourself the "Community 160" patch and you good to go.

So far it crashed once in 10h of playtime, but didnt lose any progress.

Most quests work even so it feels abit clunky from time to time. Clicking the silver quest marker on the map helps to update it!

Also taking screenshots, can teleport you to a random location, for whatever reason

I bought this game after playing through Sacred 1 and enjoyed it so I decided to give the next sequel a try. Upon installing and starting a new character (chose Shadow Warrior class), I immediately encountered bugs everywhere including in the one of the first quests I took up (called Hunting Highwaymen) where I completed the quest objectives but couldn't turn it into the NPC quest giver and his dialogue only continued to indicate that the quest was still in progress. Another very disruptive (and very obvious) bug I also encountered was my control hud was frequently disappearing from my screen when I closed the map or log book, requiring me to exit my character and reload again every time it happened. The intro cinematics played at game launch also were appearing black with no video and only audio.

I've done some research and found out that this game is horrendously buggy and its development was rushed to market. No attempts have been made by the development team to fix any of the problems I've encountered since its release in 2012 (well over a decade ago!). There are two fan made patches (Community Patch and Purist Fixpatch), I tried installing those but they both did nothing to fix the aforesaid issues I am having. I gave up on the game since I can't be bothered investing my time and energy into a game that doesn't work properly. Such a shame because it is artistically a very nice fantasy RPG world that I could have enjoyed if it wasn't for its crappy and unprofessional development.

What angers me the most is that game developers are allowed to churn out such poorly built rubbish like this game and - sell it commercially, never fix the problems with follow up patches and get away with it. Something needs to be done to hold game developers to account for such appalling and unprofessional workmanship especially when they are selling it commercially to consumers.
