floor panel that opens the door?
floor panel that opens the door?

in the area E1wo the safe room with the broken naked women poster. the area where you get to see human opponents for the first time.
there is a floor platform. when you step on it, a door opens at the end of this corridor. but it closes again when you leave the platform. how can you manage to run through it?

unfortunately i didn't read the tip that was displayed there

If you hide your weapon with X and crouch, you can hold E to drag corpses around. There's a zombie in that corridor you can drag onto the pressure plate. There is one more button like that in another area, but I don't think you can get back up after jumping down to it. I used my guns to push the corpses onto it.

Fortunately that button is only needed for a shortcut and not critical to the progression. As for the second button, maybe the devs will add a ladder at some point, shooting the bodies to move them seems a bit awkward.

so i'm at that point now (after i first run into the mercenaries) and i don't know what i did but now there's no zombie to put on the floor panel and there's def nowhere else to go. am i screwed?

the zombie is at the end of the hallway
to the left of the locked door

yeah, the zombie is hidden in a nook to the side of said locked door.

I believe it is scripted to always be there and the body never disappears after it dies.

thats what i'm trying to say, i already killed then quit the game (i missed the tutorial that told me how to grab it) and when i came back to the game the zombie doesn't appear anymore

You're missing a key point, that door is just a shortcut, you don't need to open it progress, it only leads back towards the room with the fan. Don't worry about it.

...IIRC you can't get back to the fan section otherwise though, so unless you've done the badges before...

Yes You can just go back through the vent then down the ladder.
