you can try using x360ce

if you mean that it 'wont work' as in it literally wont work at all, as in pressing buttons on the controller doesnt do anything, then you can fix this by unticking compatibility by right clicking the .exe file of the game and then clicking 'properties' and then 'compatability' and then untick where it says 'run this game in combatibilty mode for'. And also by turning on the steam overlay

My controller will not work either. Does anyone know what I can do to get it to work for this game?

yeah, last time I tried to play this game, whatever I did, controller did not work. So I gave up now waiting for the remasters to play.

Google "TR2main" and click on the "Arsunt/TR2: Tomb Raider II Injector Dynamic Library" GitHub result. Go to the releases and download "TR2Main_v0.9.0.zip" (237MB).

Unzip the files into your Tomb Raider II download folder (Steam/GOG releases) and then you can run the game from Steam > Play, or by using the Tomb2.exe in the TE2 game folder.

It has controller support, I've played it with my PS5 DualSense controller with no need to bind anything. I have been using the DualSenseX software which emulates a Xbox 360 controller. ds4windows will work too.

Also check out TR-Rando which is a Tomb Raider 1 - 5 randomiser. Google "TR-Rando" and click on the "LostArtefacts/TR-Rando: Tomb Raider Game Randomizer" result.

In case people still trying a soolution:
- Steam Bigpicture
- Set controller bindings as keyboard bindings (and set each gamepad buttom binding as the respective keyboard binding you want ingame)
Done, Steam Bigpicture will emulate a keyboard at your controller and the game will not know the difference.

Install TR2main and it then supports xinput natively and your controller will work. No need for Steam bigpicture or JoyToKey.

jut go on tomb2.exe file and uncheck compatibility

i feel like a lot of people here have missed my comment on how to get it to work, check out the comment that i posted which is the 2nd comment down which was posted on 27th august, what i suggested has worked for many people
