Shouldn't matter too much. I'm currently level 135, and have 5 sp left over that I don't even really need. Max level is 150, and you pretty much don't have enough skill slots to make use of that many sp. There's also a sp reset item that you could buy with gems earned from quests, so not that much risk to just try a few things.

I think most people go either dexterity or strength as main stat, then vitality as secondary. If you decide to use strength, then you basically just max out the berserker tree, and if you choose dexterity, then ranger instead. Can also max out the stuff in the general tree, and pick a few things from paladin tree you think you might like. There's a lot of room for experimenting. You definitely can't use everything at once, anyways, as there's only like 8 passive slots. I barely even use my active slots, but I can tell you from experience that "lightning strikes" mixed with "rampage" absolutely destroys bosses. The only thing in the magician tree that I use is from the monk path; "mana presence" & "charged clicks". These just add a little extra damage overall, and they aren't impacted by intelligence at all, so I just ignore that stat.
