i kinda feel like defiance reminded me a bit of the borderlands games. but it was pretty much its own thing ofcourse.

for what it's worth, after giving it a try for a while, am thinking that "the division" comes as close to "defiance" as any game is going to (without the transports)...

Is it actual 'mmo' or is it more like co-op though?

borderlands 2 is the closest thing you'll get to playing this game.

I didn't know about a TV show for this. Having not played the game in 10 years, I actually do miss it. How are things these days? I have been playing games like Path of Exile, Total War, Planetside2, and hitting up games on my account like Legends of Grimrock as of late. Oh, and Bannerlord Warband.

I feel this deeply. I associated this show and game with my x-wife, she loved both. Those were good memories.

Hellgate London/Hellgate Global is the closet thing you're going to get to defiance, because of the modding of weapons, random color loot with legendaries, and overall character customization.

Yea im starting to see that, watched a few videos with character creation/customaztion and has PVE only servers with missions/story. Only thing i don't see is the random generated color loot. I see there's loot though, but seems more like crafting stuff

I miss it. People playing Helldivers 2 makes me miss it more. They don't know what they missed.
