I can't help but compare it to the first game, and you're probably considering it after the first game, so that's what we're going to do.

Date to Die For didn't reach the same highs as before—that game was just lightning in a bottle—but was still a fun and quality experience I recommend for fans. New mechanics like 360-degree navigation and manually opening doors truly amplified how immersive and scary this series can be, and learning the contours of the house was satisfying. The story and characters were good too, providing some nice lore and goofy moments.

But, it felt like kind of a pale imitation of First Date. It tells a different story about loops, which resulted in less chapter diversity. Overall, including at the end sequence, Date to Die For wasn't as compelling or challenging. Still good, but not really breaking new ground. While I liked the positives above, I was hyped for something a bit more.

Enjoyed the first game? I still wouldn't miss out on this sequel.

Even better than the first game, which was already fantastic. Madness! Romance! A cute milf who needs YOU to help her. Existential horror! Sucker for Love truly has it all. I hope there are more games coming soon, I need additional eldritch gods to date.
