can't use magic from gamepad?
So i've got my rod, used statue after and still can't shoot fireballs. Using xbox one controller, apparently should work on 'A' button. Any help? Am I missing something?

It's been a while since I played but I think you need to hold down the button for a second or so.

Maybe a dumb question, but did you actually find the Fire magic in the mine? Using the Rod of Divinity on the statue doesn't grant you any magic on its own, just the MP to use them once you find them.
