Linux Version?
I know that FM never provided a Linux version of their benchmarks, them being DirectX an all. But might it be possible for you to also produce an OpenGL Benchmark? With Steams move to Linux and Studios like Valve, Egosoft and others porting their titles, this would be a very interesting comparison indeed and might need a good, unbiased, OpenGL based, cross-platform benchmark. With FM's experience you could be the ones providing this ...

Linux version is coming. We do not have an ETA yet. Note that this thread is extremely old, please do not dig up 10+ year old threads with outdated information. Thanks.

If you inisist on trying to run the current version (unsupported, will not work properly), see here:

Id buy this if it were on Linux. It's on Android and iPad isnt it?
+1 for linux version. Maybe they'll release it with some Vulkan API tests.

We'll have to see - right now we do not have a version and we're not *right now* actively developing a Linux and/or SteamOS version, but doing one has gotten considerably more interesting than it was, say, an year ago.

Time Spy is our main focus right now and that is decisively not-Linux due to DX12.

Thank you for taking the time to answer to this thread. Though it is not the answer most have hoped for be sure that it is most appreciated!
Now that's what i call a successful necro thread revival.
I do not understand why you do not have a version of 3DMark for linux.
Please produce a ported version for OpenGL and Vulkan runnig on Linux.
This must be of interest to Valve (Steam) as a Company.
It must be of interest to PC gamers to have thins information in Graphics Card Review.
Which GPU gives gives best FPS for a game / Firestrike.

I already own 3DMark for Windows.
I would buy the Linux Version of 3DMark as long as it was similar cost and allowed me to have a realistic comparison of the same banchmark suite on the same machine giving the same visual quality but simply compare Windows10 to Linux performance.

I would put a bet on it that a large percentage of your existing users would purchase a separate version that ran on Linux.

If you have heard of Crowdfunding how about you try that out with your existing User Base.
See how many of us would "pre-purchase" the Linux Version.

Thanks.

There is no large base of existing users that run Linux as primary or gaming OS.

I would bet lots of people ware interested in abandoning Windows 10 and moving to Linux.
Part of that decision will be "Can I game on Linux".
I would guess the type of people interested in running 3DMark Benchmarking are also the type who have Linux as, at least, as second boot OS option.
I think some effort should be done to ask the existing 3DMark User base and find out.

I guess I will have to try Unigine. It claims to support Linux.

Of course there are users that run Windows only for gaming purposes, but that is a very small base. I work also with Linux (Suse Linux) but only for a special purpose. Windows 10 is since a few years a very reliable OS, especially since introduction of virtual desktops. So the reason for me to work with Linux on desktop isn't so pressing anymore. The Linux base is even in the year 2017 that small, that some companies have halted conversions to this OS.
#revivedeadforums Still wondering if there's been any progress here.

Nothing new has been announced.
Thanks for this thread. I neary bought it, but I guess I'll keep waiting for a Linux version then.

Also having a Vulkan benchmark would be nice and working on both Windows and Linux.
I tried to run 3D Mark using Steam Play Beta. It freezes.
Cheers.
friends dont let friends use winblows or crapple, is there every going to be a linux version?
