Missing squad members after ground battles. bug or feature?
I can understand if the member dies on the way back . if it has a heavy wound with loosing HP.

but this happens ALSO when I use the first aid pack on the injured soldier and stop the "HP loss per turn"..

However, it happened now three times to me, that there return less members to the base, than survived the last turn at ground battle - without active bleedings.
they also all complete are noted on the final summary of the battle..none is missing, no loss is noted.

ps
I dont mean the auto move to the reserve soldiers at the base at soldiers with an injury. I mean the ones which can not be in combat this time. yes, they move auto..
I checked the save game twice. I have 8 members incl. one injured at the base. 8 others were in battle (3x injured). when the transporter returns, I have 7 in the transporter incl. 2 light injured ones. and still the other 8 in the reserve.

1) Based on gc loading tips, unconscious (out of combat, "killed") soldiers have a slight chance to be revived during the return flight (the more they are in the negative hps, the less probable it is). Of course if they survive, they are critically wounded with like 1 hp left.

2) Seriously wounded soldiers are automatically transfered to hospital unit when they return to base: they don't appear in either roster until they recover enough health to be able to defend the base. You can tell from the base's main screen whether soldiers are in hospital.

Do you have 1 bed occupied in the hospital?

1)
usually I dont end the ground battle with any active "bleeding"... so the HP are constant and there should happen no Death on the return trip.

2)
so they are not in the reserve roster?
I hope this is final point!!! Thanks I will check

if this is the point, there is no error. so the first time the soldier died on way back about still active HP loss
Yes it is. the only one wounded appears not in the equipment roster.
but at the "total" roster, where you can hire new soldiers, there he is!!!

I have 5 places used in hospital. 1 is wounded, the others have reduced HP

1) I l meant, you end the combat with one dead soldier (not unconscious), and yet, the debriefing screen doesn't mention any death because the "survival" dice was favourable.
