Is there absolutley no way to get callahans revolver without destroying the citadel?
in theory, if the door to the pentagon interior is just under the map, the player could glitch through the floor, enter the door while falling, and then get the gun and leave, falling into the void, which normally resets you back to ground level.

this is just theory for now, the door may only appear when the missiles have already been launched and destroyed everything, with the game in essence removing the whole citadel and its assets and replacing it with the destroyed version.

im am not sure, hence why this post is here, my game crashes when i try to tcl, which means i physically cannot check, nor is there anything online.

can anyone help?

You might try adding it to your inventory using console command and item ID.

i am willing to do that as a last resort, but i swear years ago on some old defunct forum some guy actually pulled it off, but the video is essentially lost media now, id actually been trying to find it for a while before i came here, to no avail (half the forum sites are pure viruses now)

You can find ID of any item on Fallout Wiki. If it has XX at the beginning, it means the item is from DLC and you have to substitute it with that DLC loading order.

For example, ID of Callahan's Magnum is xx00B806. You have to substitute xx with loading order of Broken Steel DLC.

How do you find loading order of the DLC? Open console and click on any item that is specific for that DLC (for instance, Tri-Beam Laser Rifle) - you will see ID of that item and first two digits of that ID is loading order of the DLC.

On the wiki it does say its unobtainable unless you destroy the Citadel or use Console Commands. Using TCL command I couldn't find the door that would be in the crater. More than likely the door is not there unless you actually destroy the Citadel.
