Player data lost. What do I do?
I have played 2 championships, I was excited to play the next season, but today, when I logged in and started to play, within the game I received a message, that my player data is corrupted and it is now going to be deleted!

What should I do to retrieve my saves? I bought the game properly on steam, I not a cracker, and this is what I get? Doesn't steam have a copy of my saves?

Thanks for you help in advance!
Regards,
Áron

I'm having the same issue. I've lost two save files as a result. It is quite frustrating

Yeah, codemasters needs a patch #5. And especialy fix it for their f1 2014 game.

Try going to the steam folder; go to userdata then look for 223670, copy all the saves into another folder; delete the ones from the steam folder; repaste back into the steam folder and see if that works. If not I suggest you save that folder every other day depending on how often you play

Turn off steam cloud to avoid this.

This happened to me today. I have been playing F1 20x series since it started and this is the first time I've lost my data. I just logged on and got an on-screen message telling me that my data is corrupted and I need to restart. Annoying to say the least as I'm in my 3rd Season on f1 2013 and in the 3rd race, or rather I was, in Malaysia racing for Ferrari!
Now I have to go through the whole thing again.. I've logged over 140 hours on this version too.
Is it wortth removing it and reinstalling it, just in case it, the game, is corrupted? I use mods with my version and have done on all versions of the F1 20x series.. and never had an issue. Now today, as I said I get a message telling me my data is corrupted. I've had no loss of internet connection or any other issues. I log out when done and Steam sync's with no problems either.. until today. Never had this issue with any other games on Steam either.
So is Steam playing silly buggers or what?

Does the above (qoted message) mean that I should do the same too then? I'll take a look and do what you suggested for someone else and see if it works for me...

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Update:
I just looked in that folder and it is empty. The only info is in another folder and that is to do with profiles. No saved files anywhere.

Bloody annoying to say the least as I've put in over 140 hours on this version too!

WTG Steam!!

So you've navigated to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\58300877\223670\remote
Any nothing is in there? It is all empty?
When you were prompted with the Corrupted profile message did you continue into the game? Or did u close out?
I got a similar error if not the same one when i was doing some modifying to it; when I got the message I immediatly Alt+F4'd and everything was there.

There is a possibility although I have not tried to "share a file" meaning it might be possible to use another persons folder. This might be an option if anyone would "like to share their profile", and this might be against their terms so,

If you have any question I can try to answer them just add me.

Every time I put a lot of hours into my career, I backup that entire folder.

People.. turn off steam cloud unless you absolutely need it, nothing but asking for trouble.... and backup all local save data often..

I've just found out something else about that crash it also, apart from deleting all my saved data, it also removed the mod I had in use as well. I restarted my career and had a big off with two other cars and all that happened was that my front wing went awol, and what should've happened was the bare minimum of at least two cars being "retired" from the race with a lack of wheels etc as Rosberg and Alonso hit the wall in front of me and i caught the back end of Alonso.. all I lost was my front wing. What should've happened was me taking an "early finish" along with those two! So it may well be a "sneaky"(?) move by Steam to remove "mods etc" that we use to improve the game... unless someone else can say otherwise? I am now going to add the mods I use back into the game... and restart the race/season.. with realistic damage.. and not "Steam-F1 2013 damage"

I highly do not think this is so. Steam supports many games with and without mods. Meaning Europa has mods and actual steam mods, but Crusader kings does not have steam mods but does have mods. I think it is that your game just got completly reset due to the corruption

Thanks for your comments Tesseract...
With regards to your last one.
Umm.. how? Surely that can't happen as the files used for the Mods would then have to be replaced with the original files again wouldn't they?
Also there were no downloads or "Steam Updates" that occurred after this problem had occurred either, so if that did happen then could/wouldn't(?) it show up as a download and also the date stamps on those files then, or would they stay the same?
If you can also explain how my game can get reset back to the Vanilla version of the game then please do let me, and others who were affected by this "reset" as you put it, know about this and also how it could happen.

Also since yesterdays post, I've been back on to the Race Department website and there is an even better Mod, a large one mind you but looking at the details about it I may well use that one instead of the one that got "removed/deleted/replaced".
I'm baffled as to how a game can get reset too, I may ask about this problem on the Race Department and see if anyone has come across this problem before and find out what happened to their version of the game.

My profile suddenly gets reset every time I close and restart Steam. Even if I back it up and copy it inside the folder it can't find it. What the hell...

That's bad. Try reinstalling f1 2013.

Hi, I am having the same issue and opened a thread yesterday here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/223670/discussions/0/1753525328597230752/

Has there anyone found a way to restore the profile data?

What I can tell is that I never used any mods, but the steam cloud was activated. I just unactivated it now. But I'm wondering whether it can help to restore the lost data.

I went to that 223670\remote folder, and found out that the old ghost car files are still there, but the profile files have all been created yesterday, since I tried a couple of different things yesterday.

Well, I guess I won't get any reply, since the game is so old, but I'm just giving it a try ...
