Game does not start at all
does not even open a window

crash logs say something like this

Exception Code: 0xC0000005
Exception: The thread tried to write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.

Can anyone help? I'm running Win10. Used to work fine about a month ago. I haven't changed anything major in terms of setup, except maybe for upgrading my graphics drivers.

Really sucks that I can't play the game.

EDIT: Should add that I've tried reinstalling, verifying game files, and disabling cloud saves multiple times.

Do you have an AMD GPU? What worked for me is the AMD GPU driver cleanup tool, and then a clean latest driver install. Nothing else worked. I also got the write access blah blah error.

I got it to work a while ago doing a similar thing. I deleted all of my AMD drivers in the C:/AMD folder and then just reinstalled the stable driver (NOT the latest!) from AMDs website. Afterwards it worked perfectly again.
