Is this still the best f1?
They used to never put 2013 on sale either, when they were selling it?

This one is possibly the best.
2018 MIGHT have been better, but since 2015 they have been using a new graphics engine which I do NOT like.
Gone are the clear and nicely anti-aliasied visuals of the older titles, and say hello to jagged and flickering edges due to very poor anti aliasing options, and generally unclear soupy visuals.
Every time I try to play 2018 I just get frustrated with how bad the display is.
After playing 2013, I'm surprised just how well it holds up, even in the handling and physics department - it's a helluva game.

Yep.. just fired up 2018 again. Of course in many areas that graphics are an 'improvement'. But the problem is how unfinished they are.
Flickering jaggies on the cars, billboards etc, tarmac horribly soupy.
It's like one step forwards and two steps back in my opinion. Why can't they sort out the damn visuals? was the same in 16,17, and now 18.

Believe me, 2013 has FAR better anti aliasing options - it has less graphical effects yes, but whats the point in adding loads of graphical effects if you can't implement them well and you are left with a flickering jaggies, and a hazy, soupy mess?
Rant over.

F1 2013 the best

yeah it's great, but much more arcadey in comparison with F1 2017 or F1 2018. It's great because it has classic content (80s turbo cars and 4 classic tracks) and the 2013 season (last season before the horrible vacum cleaner engines). I think it was the best of the codemasters series until F1 2017 which improved the physics in a good way while bringing back classic cars (not the same than f1 2013 with a few exceptions). F1 2016 was a major improvement in the physixs department but no classic content.

Graphically, indeed, it's at least as good as the last F1 games (with better aliasing performance, but less polygons and worse reflections). The cars are too fast but they are fun to drive (if you can run the game). It is still great with unique content but has many compatibility problems with new systems.

I would recommend it if you can find a cheap key (ebay) and if you're ok to take the risk of having a game you can't launch. One important thing : with a wheel, do not forget to activate vsync, if not, the FFB will be broken.

Why isn't F1 2013 on the Steam store?

If you can stand the stupid AI. You will be penalised for stupid AI moves ie, cut the corner and give back the place or face a penalty, AI cuts the corner and keeps going. THEY WILL RAM/HIT you and YOU will get a penalty for hitting them???
(end rage quit rant)
