Supersampling
A quick note on Supersampling -

Supersampling is a very expensive “brute force” anti-aliasing technique that effectively renders your chosen game resolution with a multiplier and then downscales. When considering whether your hardware can run with supersampling, you should multiply your game resolution by the supersampling option – that is what your hardware will actually be rendering and it comes at the associated cost.

Example: if you are running at 1920x1080 (1080p) and have supersampling set to x2, you are effectively rendering at 3840x2160 (4K). If you set the game resolution to 4k and have supersampling set to x2, you are rendering at 7680x4320!

What's more, although x2 supersampling only doubles the resolution this actually quadruples the number of pixels rendered and the amount of GPU memory required - so unless you have a very fast GPU with a lot of onboard memory x2 supersampling isn't going to work well for you.

If you are experiencing low framerate and attempting to configure advanced settings, a good port of call is to first review your supersampling setting.

Many players found Supersampling to be the main issue with Framerate but have still found no fix regarding what to do when on a high end PC and are still struggling for 30 FPS on the "Low" preset, simply speaking this could fix FPS issues but the community figured this out long ago, while i do like that you guys are looking into it somply speaking this thread wasn't a good idea since most players will assume you are assuming they arn't smart enough to realize their settings need to be lowered to get an FPS increase

At least they are trying. I have my super sampling at 1x off and my game runs pretty ok, sure there are some issues but not like many seem to be getting.

Still lags hard on a GTX 980... so if supersampling is off then it isn't the course of the issues at all.

Super sampling will half your frame rate but people knew to turn it off since most of the presets have it off by default anyways,as i said in the first comment to this thread it may help 1 or 2 people but I don't see the community having a good response to this

Dont get me wrong but everyone with a bit knowledge wont use Supersampling without an SLI Setup or similar, its like saying setting the Graphics to low fix Performance Issues thats silly. With all the Messages around everywhere its pretty clear that Issues arent caused by the Customers Systems, not the Drivers, the Hardware, the Operating System or running out of Ressources etc nothing of that.

The Game Engine doesnt utilize the CPU Cores very well and cause overhead, this leads to a bottleneck with the GPU, with the GPU on 99% +/- and the CPU somewhere at 50% +/-. Thats a thing i could reprogress all the Time. I appreciate the work but things like DXDiags, Screenshots from used Graphic Settings and advices for certain Settings wont fix anything when the cause of all this is the Engine itself.

Object detail was the biggest killer for me.

Just alt tab, uncheck affinity for all cores and then check them again. voila it will use your CPU more effectively. You still are never gonna have 100% CPU and GPU usage, something is always gonna be the bottleneck in every game ever made. 100% GPU usage and 50% CPU usage isn't bad btw.

Hello to everyone! I currently have 2 titan xp, 64 gb at 2666mhz, intel i7 extreme 6950x at 3/0 ghz, asus pg348q 100mhz monitor and for some reason despite this monster, I can't seem to run the game at maxed settings with supersampling turned to 2.0x without dropping to 30fps. Any settings I should play with?

thank you for the info... i was struggling to get 60 fps in homefront the revolution with ultra sttings at 1080p... with the supersampling x2 i got between 48/55 fps.. now i left it at 1.5 and it runs perfectly.
PC: I7 8700k - 16gb ddr4 3200mhz - gtx 1080Ti strix.
