The Cenozoic Era - Final Version Update & Exciting New Features!

Hello Cenozoic Era community!

The final version of The Cenozoic Era, We’ve been working hard to bring you a truly immersive experience, with plenty of features and gameplay. This update brings the final version of the game to a close and what to expect on release.

Release is planned to come out around the 10th-15th of February

The Animal Hub: A New Showcase for Your Rare Creatures
We’re renaming the Marketplace to the Animal Hub, and it’s going to be your go-to destination for everything related to highly bred, rare animals! In addition to showcasing these creatures, you’ll now have the ability to transfer animals to different servers or even move them to the Event Server, we've decided to remove the sell option for animals.

The Event Server will allow you to battle your animals without the risk of permanent loss. Anyone can connect to the Event Server, and spectators will have a special camera to watch the action unfold. And if your animal wins, you’ll have a chance to earn free DLCs as rewards. There’s no better way to show off your breeding skills and fight for some epic prizes!

Play Style Choice: Tailor Your Experience
To ensure everyone can find a server that suits their preferences, we’ve set in place the Play Style Choice feature. Now you can select servers based on your preferred style of gameplay, whether that’s pure realism or something a bit more flexible with skin creation. Servers will be able to fine-tune settings to match any play style you want, making your experience unique and customizable.

Dynamic Seasons
Experience the full dynamic season system, where every in-game year brings new challenges & opportunities, this feature is designed to bring more challenge to your gameplay and immerse yourself in a ever changing landscape, from food source impacts and adaptions, to freezing to death, this system will challenge your abilities to survive.

Breeding and mutations
This system is designed to enhance your gameplay and forge the best of the best animal stats. If a animal is a newborn and was mutated you will see the mutation put into random stats, however, you wont know the animals full mutation until it reaches about 75% in growth size.

As well as breeding mutations we also have a new challenge aimed at breeding, animals can have a chance to birth several babies at a time and on the same note can also suffer loss of a baby before it is born, resulting in a failed pregnancy. During birth your animal has a possibility of death during delivery (This feature is only for realism servers)

Two Maps, Bigger and Better Gameplay
We’re adding two maps to the game:

- North American Themed Map: A vast, expansive environment filled with large mountains and vast valleys with plenty of opportunities for adventure.
- North American Island Map: A smaller, more compact version designed for lower-end PC support and close-quarters gameplay.

These two maps will cater to different playstyles, ensuring that everyone can enjoy The Cenozoic Era no matter their hardware or preference.

Coin System & Community Servers
As we've talked about before, the Integrated Coin System designed specifically for community servers. The Coin System will allow players to earn free growths without needing admin intervention, making the experience more accessible for everyone. But, please note that animals grown using this system will not be eligible for upload to the Animal Hub, and sandbox animals or animals with grow commands also won’t be uploadable.

Animal deaths
For those wondering about animal death, keep in mind that any animal that dies (for any reason) will have that death permanently recorded in the save file. You’ll be able to see how many times it’s died when browsing the Animal Hub. Additionally, you can see how many events it won as well. Animals that have died will not be allowed to participate in any events so please use caution before playing in any server with your rare animal. (The event server is excluded from this, if an animal dies during an event it does not count against it)

Can I recover my animal if I was banned?
Yes, you can log into a server you were banned from and export your animal to the animal hub. But you will be kicked if you try to play while banned. You can also export a dead animal to the hub and put in a claim for recovery (This is put in place in case a admin or server owner decides to slay your animal for no reason, or if, you lost your animal and cant get in contact with a server owner to have it recovered) we recommend to always export your animal to the hub atleast once, this ensures there is a backup of it stored on our servers so it can be restored if it meets eligibility.

Admin Commands: More Tools for Your Servers
We’ve also added a bunch of new admin commands to make managing servers more fun and interactive. One of the standout features is the Jailed Command – yes, your animals can now be jailed for a certain amount of time in an actual jail cell! This new mechanic is a fun alternative to the regular kick and adds a little more spice to managing unruly players, players who love to troll will also love this, its just fun.

Additionally, we’ve added a server rules board where your jailed animal can easily view all the server rules, and now jailed creatures will be required to accept an onscreen message confirming that they’ve read and understood them before they can be released.

All of your staff members, their colors and permissions can be adjusted within the command panel (Only accessible by staff with the server management permission/owner) You can also use the new role system for dedicated players on your server, this system currently has Supporter and Vip role, but we plan to expand it later on. Both of those new roles can be colored as well. The best part of this system is it allows server owners or server managers the ability to remove and add staff without having to run a server restart, same for any role color changes.

We've also added a tag system, next to a players username as a rank assigned to them (Owner, Senior Admin, Admin, Moderator, Vip & Supporter) Tag will look as such: [Admin] Username
