Memoriapolis - Update V1.0.126 - Notes

Hey Builders!

Welcome to our fourth round of community-driven improvements! Your feedback continues to shape the game, and this update brings even more refinements, polish, and surprises. Let’s take a look at what’s new!

Cultural building evolution

Back in February, we ran a poll on our Discord to learn more about how you use cultural building evolutions (also sometimes called “mixes”). While we expected only a small group to be unfamiliar with the feature, since it’s been part of the game since the Early Access launch, we were surprised to find that 28% of voters didn’t even know it existed!

We had already made some improvements to make cultural evolutions more visible in the Building Tree when selecting a cultural building, but we knew that wouldn’t be enough for everyone to discover them.

That’s why we’re introducing a brand-new tab in the Building Tree dedicated entirely to Cultural Evolutions. This new panel lets you explore all evolutions across all ages and provides guidance on how to unlock each one.

You can easily switch between the Cultural Evolutions and Cultural tabs by clicking on the building links.

To celebrate the launch of this new panel, we’re also adding eight new cultural evolutions to the Age of Enlightenment:

Local apothecary
Caparisoners' workshop
Colonial administration center
Manor house of the local lord
Orthodox monastery
Popular culture workshop
Tavern
Wire shop

We’re also working on new visuals for each cultural evolution to better identify them in the game!

Please give us feedback on this new panel and don’t hesitate to tell us if you encounter any issues or rough edges.

Codex

To make the game a little easier to understand, we’ve decided it’s time to give the Codex a small overhaul. Here’s what’s new:

Some Codex entries now appear directly on screen when unlocked, instead of showing a small tip in the corner. We’ll gradually replace all tips with this new system. (You can disable this in the settings under “Disable in-game tips.”)
Entries have been rewritten and divided to be more concise. Each one now focuses on a single topic and is illustrated with a new screenshot or video.
You can now navigate entries using Back and Next buttons.

We’ll continue improving and expanding the Codex to fill in gaps around game mechanics and to support upcoming features in future patches.

Accessibility Improvements

From the beginning, we’ve been committed to making the game more accessible with features like edge scrolling, OpenDyslexic font support, and adjustable font sizes. In this update, we’re continuing that effort by addressing some of the most frequently requested options:

Camera movement sensitivity
Camera zoom sensitivity
Edge scrolling sensitivity
A toggle to invert the translation/rotation mouse button
Keyboard shortcuts for camera zoom in/out
Building rotation using Shift + Mouse Wheel

To ensure you have access to all the new controls, we recommend resetting your keybindings after the update.

Other

In addition to all this, there are a few other notable changes:

A new decorative building, the Plateia, unlocked in Antiquity with the level 4 Villa
New illustrations for the destinies of the Age of Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution
A fix for the Prutaneion, which used to slow down more each time it was opened and eventually taking several seconds
A crash fix related to district generation, which mostly occurred from the Age of Enlightenment onward

We’re back with our third round of community-requested improvements—thanks for all your feedback! This patch brings a bunch of quality-of-life updates and a fresh new look for the snow map. Let’s dive into what’s new!

Snow map enhanced

The snow map gets a complete makeover: the layout of roads, mountains and islands has been adjusted, new tree assets have been added, bridges have been rebuilt and the lighting ambience has been enhanced to make it less dark. We can't wait to see the cities you'll be making!

Display of non-buildable areas

This has been much requested, after some technical challenges the display of non-buildable areas is finally here and works with all other construction filters!

Prutaneîon

We continued to improve the Prutaneîon to make it the ultimate overview of the city's buildings. Now all building types are covered:

New types: Decorative, Production, Proximity, Service and Wonder
New filter: Resources

Second patch in the “Improving player quality of life” series

This time we've improved filter visualization and added automatic triggers when you perform certain actions.

The crop filter appears when you place a cultural building, and the resource filter appears when you place a production building.

There have also been a number of additions to the tutorial to help you better understand certain game mechanics.

Memoriapolis - Update 1.0.66 - Release Notes

This is the first patch in a series of quality-of-life improvements over the coming weeks.

New feature "The Prutaneîon" (manage your city buildings)

It's been asked a lot, a way to easily manage buildings of your city as it grows

Features

Find buildings in your city
Play/Pause a building
Shortcut to repair interface
Shortcut to upgrade/evolve interface
Filter by type, age and satisfactions
For now it manages cultural buildings, ruins and family heritage

Updated ruin panel

Ruin panel has been updated to match better with the rest of the UI and be more compact
A new iteration is already planned to make it more user-friendly with the Prutaneîon

Various QoL improvements

Details of Memory Points calculation are now displayed in the tooltip when they are hovered in the top bar

Shortcuts

New shortcuts have been added for Collection, Codex, Satisfaction book and the newly added Prutaneîon
The key associated with each panel is now shown in its tooltip

Districts now clearly indicate the origin of their barricade in their selection interface: faction, esplanade or revolt (only barricaded districts from this version onwards for the distinction between esplanade and revolt)

Camera

You can now get closer to the buildings with the game's basic camera. The maximum height has also been lowered and the angle slightly reduced for performance reasons

The free camera is even freer than before, with more zoom and angle possibilities.

A week ago, we were thrilled to finally share version 1.0 of Memoriapolis with you — the result of three years of passionate and dedicated work by our team.

While the press and content creators gave the launch a very warm welcome, your feedback has led us to make important adjustments, starting tonight.

What’s already changed

Last Friday’s patch eased the difficulty on the Esplanade, making the early game smoother and more accessible.

Today’s patch introduces three difficulty levels. For example, in the first two levels, districts will no longer close if you fail mid-stage validations — a tweak that should directly address many of your concerns.

This first patch is mainly aimed at rebalancing the game's overall difficulty level, while correcting several blocking bugs.

Our Game Designers have also prepared a practical guide to help you get through the first Age in the best possible conditions.

The Esplanade

We know that the Esplanade is currently a major challenge for many players. This patch corrects some of its problems and adjusts the difficulty to make the experience smoother.

Here are some details on score calculation (also available in-game):

Resource points:

Resources harvested from the map: 1 point
Resources transformed in buildings (like the Sculptor): 2 points

Satisfied population:

This score represents the average satisfaction in your city.
It can be improved by constructing buildings, erecting ramparts, using cultural characters or adopting decrees.

Faction power:

This is the sum of the factions' power in your city.
Powerful factions are essential to your town's development, but an imbalance can be detrimental to its smooth running.

Building points:

Buildings are essential to attracting citizens and factions.

Here are the points awarded according to their type:

Cultural building: 1 point
Advanced cultural building: 2 points
Service building: 3 points
Wonder: 5 points

This is just the beginning!

New systems, new challenges, new artistic direction: Memoriapolis leaves early access and enters its first major era!

Hello Builder,

After six months of intense development and many discussions with you, Mémoriapolis is now in version 1.

No more early access.
It's still a work in progress, but the structure is standing, and we're proud to open the doors to you.

We've changed (almost) everything

Yes, really.
Some systems have disappeared, others have arrived. Each time, we've done it with one thing in mind: listening to your feedback, testing, adjusting, while keeping to the vision of the game we set out to achieve.

Thank you to all of you who took the time to play, to complain, to suggest. You've been our compass.

The aim of the game is simple: to hold out

Your mission? To prevent the city from falling apart.
Specifically, don't let too many neighborhoods become barricaded. Once you reach a certain threshold, the city will be out of your hands, and you'll lose the game.

"I think it'll pass...."Why these closures?
Riots, fires, thefts, epidemics, strong factions, unpopular decisions... there's no shortage of reasons. And once a district has been closed, it will not reopen until the age change. In other words, we need to limit the damage before things get out of hand.

"Ho no..."

Bonus goal: “The Collection”

If you manage well, you'll reach the Age of Enlightenment, the fourth age. Bravo!

But to reach the next level - the age of the Industrial Revolution and its famous final content “The Collection” - you'll also need to have managed the Esplanade controls throughout the game.

No pressure... but some nonetheless.

Five ages to traverse

In this version there are the famous four ages:

Antiquity
Middle Ages
Renaissance
Enlightenment

To which we've added the Industrial Revolution!

Every age changes the way we govern. You can't run an ancient city like an industrial town. The mechanics remain consistent, but the strategies evolve. You have to adapt, negotiate and manipulate.

Politics is an art.

New interface: we've redone everything

Let's not beat around the bush: the interface has been completely redesigned.

More modern, clearer, more pleasant.
It's a major change, and we sincerely hope it will make your life easier.

Art direction revisited (with love)

We're back to pencil and brush. Well, in a manner of speaking.

Inspired by architectural drawing and watercolor, the art direction has been given a facelift. No cel shading, but a "paint + drawn lines" effect that gives the game more character.

And if that's not to your liking, don't worry: all this can be deactivated in the options.

Gone is “Downtown”, welcome is “Your Family's House”

From now on, at each new age, you'll set up your family's house.

Gone is the downtown that "replaced" the previous one. This house accompanies you, marks your anchorage, and its placement rules have been revised so that it really makes sense in the development of the city.

Culture points? Forget them.

We've replaced them with cultural characters.

They arrive, stay a while, do their mission, then leave. Depending on their culture, they can boost your production, unlock a building, attract a faction, or even save a desperate situation.

Yes, they're cool. And no, they're not random.

A major project: politics

This could be the real revolution.
We've rethought every political system in the game.

Each age now has its own rules, but they all rest on a common base. The idea is that you don't have to relearn everything every time, but you still have to adjust.

Passing a decree, influencing a vote, manipulating a faction... Politics in Mémoriapolis is a game within a game.

Evolving cultural buildings

They were already there, but rather discreet. Now they're more numerous, more visible, and evolve over several ages.

A real strategic lever for building a city for the long term.

Savegame incompatibility

We did our best during early access to keep savegames compatible.
But now, with the new interface, overhauled systems and redesigned mechanics, this was no longer possible.

So we're starting afresh with version 1.

Three new translations join the game:

We know we're a long way off.

This is just the beginning. We hope to do better in the future.

Price? It's staying put (for now)

The early access price is staying put for a few more weeks.
It's our way of keeping the game accessible to everyone, even after release.

What's next?

Version 1 isn't the end. It's a big step, but the road goes on.
We already have some ideas: new buildings, new mechanics (maybe heroes?), even new ages.

But first, we're going to stabilize, correct and improve. And, as always, with you.

Change the architecture of your cities!

Building a single large city in Memoriapolis

Hello Builders,

We've read your feedback: some feel that you end up building several small cities instead of one large one. That's probably true when you're new to the game, but rest assured: it's perfectly possible to create a single city from start to finish!

You just need to change your habits a little:

Plan your development.
Use mixed-use buildings and the Master Builder's Office.
Remember: not destroying doesn't mean not improving!

Mixed-use buildings

When you construct a building, it influences the neighborhoods around it. Some buildings can evolve from one age to the next, and also affect neighboring neighborhoods.

Example:
I build a temple during Antiquity.
Religious neighborhoods form around it.

In the Middle Ages, I unblock the church and transform my temple into a basilica.
As a result, all the surrounding neighborhoods automatically adapt to the new medieval style.

The Master Builder's Office

Unlocked in the Middle Ages, this building is essential for managing your town!
Click on its icon (on the left of the screen), then select a district: you'll be able to modify its planning rules and density.

For a few coins, you can modernize your city's appearance without razing it to the ground!

In addition, these modifications (type of construction and density) will have an impact on the number of inhabitants your town can receive. But beware: if this neighborhood is attractive, this is where your new residents will want to live!
