Rivals of Aether II

Game crashing on launch
I had the same problem with the demo, but when I downloaded the full game the problem went away, so I didn't give it much thought and now it has come back. Everytime I launch the game, the screen stays black for a few seconds, a pop-up saying "Fatal error" appears and the game closes. I've tried reinstalling the game multiple times but nothing changed.

I had the same problem as you. to solve it I just uninstalled the GPU drivers and restarted the PC. U are welcome :)

Okay, but what if you have an Intel GPU and not an Nvidia one? I have the same issue when the game worked perfectly for me before the newest update.

I also have an Intel GPU. but now there is another problem. it doesn't apply the changes to lower the quality. when I start a game, the fatal error appears after 10 seconds

you can try going to "device manager" find the GPU and uninstall it. then restart your computer and try starting rivals again

I'm willing to chalk it up to UE5 being UE5.

On Nvidia drivers that are any newer than last September, if you were to use Lumen SSR/Ambient Occlusion on Fortnite or Marvel Rivals, it'd crash after 20-30 minutes. Likely not the games' fault, just a combination of drivers & engine.

Just an example, but I'm thinking the graphics problems of RoA 2 are tied to the same kind of culprits, and there might not be a feasible fix by RoA 2's devs if the root is UE5/Epic.

Very sound reasoning, but if this is true, that means people like me are no longer able to play the game...at least until it can run on machines like mine again. I really enjoyed the game too, which makes it a shame.
