I played a lot of Civilization 5 on Windows before going to Linux, and it always seemed to run great on my current hardware. Recently installed Ubuntu, I open Civilization 5 and the game is running like a slideshow. I was thinking maybe the Linux version is poorly optimized or something... maybe? Other newer and more demanding games have for the most part been running well on this Ubuntu machine, so it seems a bit odd and I therefore doubt the problem is with my machine... I noticed some new launch videos...

Is there any way to protect hardware on Linux?? --- Something recently happened on Windows 10 & this happened without there ever being an Eathernet Cord... Any ideas if this is preventable on Linux?? o_@ It's a strange Error... I've not encountered before... The purpose of this, isn't that I have an issue that it exists, i'm not bothered by that... I'm just seeing if there is anybody who knows about this, & might have an answer to how it can be fixed??...

i'm trying to add new directory for installed games above /home folder (/steamdata to be precise) and when I press SELECT in popup it crashes steam after a short delay. i've tried to chmod both /steamdata directory and directories where steam is installed (recursively), nothing helped....

Did not install steam via flatpak, running on ubuntu 24.04 with a 2080TI. Everything worked fine until a recent driver update.
