EAC is a PITA
Valve has begun offering the newest versions of Proton based on WINE 8.0 instead of 7.0, so this may cause regressions in some games
be careful to backup your savefiles from the Proton prefix if you're gonna try to revert to older versions like 7.x to fix this issue
EAC doesn't recommend using these profiles are they are easy to fool with fake-signer algorithms and cause massive problems even for Windows users, but some devs don't seem to listen as they don't know how easy fake signer methods have become on dlls which only sign a weak hash, and thus all you have to do is use brute-force hash matching to use the method of simply tacking on an old signer that you've added brute-forced bits to match.
