Games running in Ubuntu 24.04 look extremely glitchy on launch

Hello,

I recently installed Steam using the sudo apt install steam command. When I install games that are natively supported on Linux, the games look extremely glitchy. I can hear sound in the game and the I know the controls are working since I can hear the menu button clicks when I push the up and down buttons on my keyboard. My Nvidia drivers are installed and using the proprietary drivers (nvidia-driver-535). The games I'm trying to play are Hyperbolica and BallisticNG. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Try Xorg session

I'm already running in Xorg. I also tried Wayland, but that opened up even more issues. Plus I heard Wayland has latency issues and that drives me crazy. The video for the games worked in Wayland but were running at about 10-15 fps. I went back to trying to fix the problem with a Xorg session.

Luckily, I was able to get Hyperbolica running by using launch command -force-vulkan. This didn't work for BallisticNG though.

I'm also having this exact same issue on SteamVR.
