High on Life no cloud saves?

I just bought High on Life and played a bit on my computer (Linux) and now I wanted to try it out on my Steam Deck and noticed that it started from the beginning.

All the games I've tried before have synced my saves to the cloud so I can switch between my computer and my Steam Deck and continue my progress. But it doesn't seem like High on Life is saving to the cloud.

Is cloud saves something that the developer need to add and I've just been lucky playing games that supports it?

I was really pumped on playing this game and not being able to continue my progress seamlessly makes it quite a bummer..

How do people handle situations like this? Do you just play a specific game on one device or do you copy the saves manually between them? Or is there another way of doing this or am I simply out of luck until the developer adds support for it?

Yes. And you can see it on the store page. Here e.g. you'll find "Steam Cloud" on the right side:

I'd think though it's usually not overy hard for the developers. They need to show Steam where the saves are, for the respective OSs... and maybe that's it already? (Yeah, looks like that's enough: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/cloud )

I just play it on a single device. That's the way I played for ages, so, while it's really convenient to have it on Deck and (Linux) PC, I can cope without...
