I need help with pipewire and pavucontrol
Hello together. I have a big problem (for me, maybe not for you :D)
I used pipewire, all works fine. but i had the problem that my mic desabled ingame after minutes and i hat to turn it on and off. So, i wanted to reinstall pipewire. And now i destroyed it. My mic and sound works, but i cant use it in pavucontrol. When i open it , there is "try to conect to pulseaudio". i was deinstall pipewire, reinstall pulseaudio, and try to reinstall pipewire. it doenst work. Can someome help me with it? I use Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Xubuntu).

Foreshadowing for when Linux Mint 22 gets released (with Pipewire support)... I use Pulse Effeect (for the compressor) at the moment... lol... :-)

Oh well... I'll take that headache then I guess... :-)
pipewire package by default does not have pulseaudio compatibility as i remember. So i suppose you need to install this package: https://packages.ubuntu.com/noble/pipewire-pulse.

Although i personally would not recommend using software for pulseaudio like pavucontrol with pipewire.

thanks for answer. What do you think would be the best thing i could do? Are you down for help ? :))))))
I'm using pipewire here, on Debian sid (with that pipewire-pulse package), and also using the pavucontrol to configure/tune the devices, and it is working ok (not using jack on this setup, tho)

what did you do? i can try <3

backup your pulseaudio config in /etc and any in ~/
make a list of all currently installed packages
PURGE pulseaudio,
reinstall pipewire and it's pulseaudio dependancies
i can elaborabte on each of these steps i took from a Debian perspective if you request
