Mount & Blade

Mount & Blade

Game won't save.
I don't know how to solve this problem. I have started a game and will try to save it and it won't save at all. I have checked my computer to make sure it isn't the issue and every other game including warband works fine. Is there a way to check and see if all of the software downloaded properly? can I uninstall and reinstall or will I have to repurchase the game?

Verify file integrity via Steam (right click on game in library, go to Properties, local files, click verify integrity), and if that fails, try uninstall/reinstall. No, you don't have to repurchase the game. It is linked to your account.

There might be couple of reasons of this issue you are experiencing.
-If you are using Windows as your preferred OS, please check your User Permission settings. The game might be blocked to access the Documents folder.
-Documents folder name might be invalid. Upgrading OS versions might be the reason for this.
-Pathway of the Mount&Blade Savegames folder in the Documents folder might be altered
-Your HDD might not have enough space.
-Manual save slot limit is 9. If you are having more than 9 save files the game won't let you save the 10th one manually.
-If you are using modifications to play our game they might alter with the game files. Thus causing not saving issue.
-Windows Firewall - Defender might change the user profiles. Tinkering those areas might solve the issue.

went to Tales World directly cause steam was no help at all; got the same response as above. Have checked user permissions. There is no blocks that I can find.
Document folder name (invalid). Tried telling them that "Warband has 2 folders; one that has character, sceneobj and rgl_config.txt and the second folder that is supposed to be saved games (last_savegame_backup.sav, sg00.sav sg01.sav, and sg02.sav).

BUT the straight Mount and Blade only has a folder for saved games (which is empty) BUT does NOT have a folder for config , character or sceneobj). Asked if this could be the issue and how to solve it and got back to see previous email. No freaking help.

so in response to the suggestions above, here are my answers.
*There are no blocks that I can find
*Document folders might be invalid (duh, how do you solve that as I tried to tell people that it looks like a folder is missing and I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, checked verification and it say it is supposedly fine, but the folder is still missing.
*upgrading operating system. Cannot do that cause my system is the last windows operating system available.
*HDD might not have enough space. really? 250 GB isn't enough?
*Manual save limit is 9 ( I have only 3-all Warband)
*Don't have modifications on Mount and Blade.
*Windows Firewall-defender might change user profiles. I have only one user profile, mine.
