so i want to build a sort of minmus gateway similar to the irl lunar gateway, and since im in science mode and dont have the communotrn 88-88 unlocked, i was wondering if on a later mission i brought the 88-88 on a kerbal and placed it on one of the modules while in EVA....

I'm finding a mix of answers when searching to figure out how much DV I need to return to Kerbin. Some say we can "go straight" back to Kerbin so we don't need much, others say we need the same amount it took to get to the destination to get back. Which is it? How do you do it? I've seen a good tutorial that explains how to use the DV map to get TO somewhere but I haven't found a good explanation of how to use it to figure out how much is needed to return....
