I'mma say pretty cool, if a bit more linear than you'd expect out of a game like this.

There's some story here, its neat, and its not merely slapped on, its got some breadth to it. I haven't finished it and I probably won't, but I liked what I got out of it.

The loop is great for the first few tries, as you start to unlock stuff. But some combos are just miles better than others. And especially when you're trying to like..you know..beat the game..its a bit counter-intuitive to want to go back and "level up" the different playstles (damage / tower types in this game). Essentially you're encouraged to take 3-4 steps back if you want to explore more of the game which...again just doesn't work great.

As for the linear bit, man I just don't want to play as a couple of these avatars. I kind of want to play as the ones I like, but that's not how you progress the game. You're pigeonholed into playing less fun versions (imo) of the loop to progress the story.

Imagine you're playing a swordsman and you're thinking "Man this is sick, being a swordsman is so cool" and then at some point in this hypothetical game they go "Alright now play three hours as an archer" and maybe you like that. Or maybe you go "ah..you know...I just want to be the swordsman more". I'm the second guy.

Oh and last I played, whatever that tower is that shoots skulls, its an absolutely F@#$1N ear destroyer and I don't know how that passed QA.

Las mecánicas, una vez que las entiendes, son muy adictivas. Hay una combinatoria enorme entre las armas y las características de los distintos personajes, así como las cartas que vas desbloqueando. Es una pena que las dificultades más altas sean prácticamente injugables, pero llegar hasta ahí puede llevarte 50 horas o más, así que no me voy a quejar.
